Philidelphia bass player Charles Fambrough leads an tight, rhythmic band in this new CD recorded live atthe jazz club Zanzibar Blue. It features his original compositions and reworkings of jazz standards. Of special note is his unique 4/4 funk version of Miles Davis's "Kind of Blue." Active in the New York jazz scene, he has worked with many greats: Art Blakey, Winton and Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, McCoy Tyner, Roland Kirk, Max Roach, Horace Silver and many others.
The title track which includes Sean Jones, trumpet; Bill O'Connell, piano; and Joe Ford, soprano sax.
